French Dip Sandwiches Crock Pot Style | Just A Pinch Recipes image

This recipe was found on a inexpensive dinner website that I made a few adjustments to. My family loved it!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 - onions
1/4 cup(s) butter
3-4 pound(s) beef rump roast
5 cup(s) water
1/2 cup(s) soy sauce
1 - envelope onion soup mix
3-4 clove(s) minced garlic

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large pan.
  • Slice onions in half, then into 1/4 inch slices.
  • Saute the onions in the butter untill brown and tender.
  • While the onions are cooking, combine the water, soy sauce, soup mix and garlic in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Add the onions to the crock pot.
  • Sprinkle roast lightly with season salt on all sides then add to crock pot. (If it is a very thick roast, you may cut it in half)
  • Pour the water mixture over the roast.
  • Cover and cook:On low, 7-9 hours, on high, 4-5 hours.
  • (Add shredded swiss cheese over the top, and broil before serving if desired.)
  • Scoop onions out of crock pot with a slotted spoon and serve as a condiment. The remaing juice is your Au-jus dip.
  • Serve on good, soft sub, or hoagie rolls. As for a side dish?....steak fries!

1 packet Onion Soup/Dip Mix (2 - 2.5oz (such as Lipton))
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup dry Vermouth
Salt & Pepper to taste
2-3 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
2 large boneless chicken breasts
1 1/2 - 2 cups Panko bread crumbs
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp each (salt and pepper)
2 tbsp butter (divided)
