Prep Time 30 minutes

Cook Time 20 minutes

Yield 4 loaves (14 slices each).

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
2 cups warm buttermilk (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 to 2 envelopes original ranch salad dressing mix
2 teaspoons salt
8 to 9 cups all-purpose flour
Additional butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the buttermilk, butter, sugar, eggs, ranch dressing mix, salt and 4 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into fourths. Roll each portion into a 14x12-in. rectangle. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seams to seal and tuck ends under. Place seam side down on two greased baking sheets. With a sharp knife, make five shallow slashes across the top of each loaf. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes., Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

CLASSIC RANCH DRESSING RECIPE - NYT COOKING
The original dressing served in the 1950s at Hidden Valley Ranch, a guest ranch near Santa Barbara, Calif., was made mostly from dry herbs and aromatics. To recreate that taste, this recipe is made with garlic powder instead of garlic, dried parsley instead of fresh, and so on. It makes enough seasoning mix for about 4 cups dressing; you can mix it, store it, then add dairy as needed. If you don’t like the zip of mustard, try hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce instead — or simply omit for a milder taste. To make a thick dip instead of a pourable dressing, reduce the amount of buttermilk to 1/4 cup.

  • Lightly spray the air fryer's basket with nonstick spray. I like to use an olive oil spray. Cut the whole potatoes into french fries. Using the french fry cutter is the quickest and easiest way to do this. You can leave the skin on or take it off depending on your personal preference. Place the potatoes into a large glass mixing bowl. Add the seasonings and combine thoroughly Place the potatoes into the basket of the air fryer and close. Set the air fryer to cook at 375 f for 22 minutes. Open the air fryer after 10 minutes have passed and shake the fries around. This will help the fries brown more evenly. Return the fries to the air fryer and close to finish cooking Once the cooking time has finished, check the fries. If they're done then remove and plate. If they're not done to your liking, return the basket to the air fryer and cook for another 2 minutes before checking them again. Serve and enjoy Air Fryer Parmesan Ranch French Fries as is or with your favorite dipping sauce.
