Total Time 1 hours 45 minutes

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 25 minutes

Yield 40 pieces

Number Of Ingredients 6

20 thin slices sandwich bread, crusts removed
¾ pound butter
4 ounces blue cheese, at room temperature
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 egg, beaten
20 fresh asparagus spears

Steps:

  • Trim crusts from bread, and flatten slightly with a rolling pin.
  • In a bowl, stir blue and cream cheeses together with the egg until well blended and creamy. Spread a thin layer of cheese mixture over each slice of bread. Roll one asparagus spear inside each, and fasten with a toothpick.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan. Roll each asparagus wrap in butter to coat. Place on a baking sheet small enough to fit into the freezer, and freeze for one hour, or until butter hardens and wraps are somewhat firm. Remove pan from freezer, discard toothpicks, and cut each wrap in half crosswise. Store in a resealable plastic bag in the freezer until ready to use.
  • To serve, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • Arrange frozen asparagus wraps on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Check occasionally, and turn if necessary, for even browning and to prevent burning. Enjoy!

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 35 minutes

Yield 6 servings.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon grated onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 envelope (2-3/4 ounces) seasoned chicken coating mix

Steps:

  • Combine the butter, onion, parsley, garlic powder, tarragon and pepper. Shape mixture into six pencil-thin strips about 2 in. long; place on waxed paper. Freeze until firm, about 30 minutes. Flatten each chicken breast to 1/4 in. Place one butter strip in the center of each chicken breast. Fold long sides over butter; fold ends up and secure with a toothpick. In a bowl, beat egg and milk; place coating mix in another bowl. Dip chicken, then roll in coating mix. Place chicken, seam side down, in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 425° or until the chicken is no longer pink and the juices run clear. Remove toothpicks before serving. Microwave Directions (timing based on a 1100-watt oven): Place chicken in a greased glass pie plate. Microwave on high for 2-1/2 minutes. Turn plate; microwave for 1-2 minutes or until juices run clear. Let stand 5 minutes.

ASPARAGUS APPETIZERS RECIPE | ALLRECIPES
The cooking time is way to much - these were burnt and the asparagus dried out and withered. Just cook them at that temp for 10 or 15 minutes total, turning halfway through cooking time.
