2 pounds frozen hashbrowns thawed
1 ½ sticks butter
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup onion chopped
1 can 10 oz can cream of chicken soup
2 cups sour cream
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese grated
2 cups Corn flakes crushed

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350-f degrees.
In a large bowl, combine thawed hash browns with 1/2 cup melted butter and all the remaining ingredients except the corn flakes. Spread into a 9×13″ baking dish.
Mix 1/4 cup melted butter and the crushed corn flakes together and sprinkle over top of casserole.
Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for 1 hour. Serve hot.

On waxed paper-lined baking sheets, arrange pecans in small clusters of four to five pecans each. , For caramel, in a small saucepan, combine the milk, corn syrup and sugars. Cook and stir over medium heat until a candy thermometer reads 238° (soft-ball stage). Remove from the heat. Stir in butter and vanilla. Working quickly, spoon caramel onto pecan clusters. Let stand until set. , In a microwave, melt candy coating; stir until smooth. Spoon over caramel. If desired, top with flake sea salt. Chill for 10 minutes or until set. Store in an airtight container.
