7 ounces steam fried Chinese noodles
6 slices ginger
2 stalks green onions (cut in 1-inch strips)
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons soya sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil

Steps:

  • Put noodles in 4 cups of salted boiling water. Cook 1-2 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Drain and dry.
  • Heat oil in wok or frypan until smoking hot.
  • Add ginger and onion stir for 30 seconds.
  • Add noodles and fry for 5 minutes over med heat.
  • Add sauce, and stir until coated.
  • Serve hot or cold.
  • Sometimes I add some julienned carrots or broccoli to this.

1 cup dried organic soy beans (, pre-soaked until softened )
3 cups water
Sugar as needed

Steps:

  • Soak the soy beans overnight or until double in size. Rinse the soy beans a few times and try to remove the skins.
  • Add the soaked soy beans in a blender with water. Blend well.
  • Strain the mixture with a fine gauze to remove the pulp.
  • Bring the soy milk to a boiling and continue cooking for20 minutes over slowest fire. Watch out, the soy milk overflow very easily. Add sugar to taste before serving.

Oct 28, 2008 · Milk contains a protein called casein, which when heated forms a sort of natural plastic. It's an old-school remedy to repair hairline cracks in china by boiling it in milk. If they aren't too big, the casein will fill in the cracks. I'm not sure what the value is in boiling a new unfractured dish though, as was suggested.
