1 1/2 pounds peeled and diced russet potatoes
1 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup flour
1 container (32 oz) Original Chicken Stock (4 cups)
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper Coarse Ground
1/4 tsp Thyme Leaves
1 cup diced cooked ham
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup frozen whole kernel corn

Steps:

Toss potatoes and onion with flour in 6-quart slow cooker. Stir in stock, salt, garlic powder, pepper and thyme. Cover.
Cook 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW.
Stir in ham, heavy cream and corn. Cover. Cook 15 minutes longer on HIGH or until soup is thickened.
Ladle soup into serving bowls. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Ingredients

6 peeled potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
3 cups milk
salt
pepper

Steps:

Start by boiling potatoes until fork tender.
When potatoes are done, strain out the water and add butter.
When butter is melted, add flour. Stir gently to make a paste between butter and flour. The paste will coat the potatoes.
Add Milk.
Gently stir. Allow the pot to boil. When it reaches boil, turn down to simmer.
Simmer on low till soup thickens.
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Place 4-1/2 cups of the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until tender. Remove from the heat (do not drain). Mash potatoes; stir in butter. , In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the ham, celery, onion, garlic powder, paprika, pepper and remaining cubed potatoes. Stir in the mashed potato; top with cheese. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until potatoes and other vegetables are tender. Stir in the sour cream until blended. If desired, thin soup with milk, and add parsley and coarsely ground pepper.
