4 cups frozen blackberries
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons butter, melted
Vanilla ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish with shortening or cooking spray. Place blackberries in dish; drizzle with lemon juice.
  • In medium bowl, stir egg, sugar and flour until mixture looks like coarse meal. Sprinkle over fruit. Drizzle melted butter over topping.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until topping is lightly browned and filling is bubbly. Cool 10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.

4 cups blackberries
2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
2/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Wash berries, mix with 1 cup sugar. Set aside.
  • In 9” x 13” baking pan, mix with fork: 1 cup sugar, flour, butter, milk, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
  • Pour berries on top. Do NOT stir.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until brown on top.

  • Place the blackberries in a large bowl. Combine the sugar, cornstarch and lime zest; sprinkle over berries and gently toss to coat. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking dish., In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda; cut in 5 tablespoons butter until crumbly.
