I always thought apple dumplings would be some type of dumpling cooked in apple juice, turns out it is an apple cooked in pastry. Here is a recipe that worked for me.

Yield 2 dumplings

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 tablespoons sultana raisins
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 sheets puff pastry
2 small apples, peeled and cored
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 320 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil.
  • Mix sultanas and brown sugar together in a bowl.
  • Place a puff pastry sheet on a clean work surface. Put an apple on the pastry and fill the core with the sultana mixture. Fold the pastry around the apple so that it is fully covered. Repeat with remaining pastry, apple, and filling.
  • Place dumplings into the prepared basket and brush with melted butter.
  • Set timer for 25 minutes; cook dumplings until golden brown and the apples are soft.

Air Fryer
50 g Shredded Suet
100 g Self Raising Flour
40 g Grated Cheddar Cheese
1 Tbsp Parsley
Salt & Pepper

Steps:

  • Load. Add your shredded suet mix into a bowl and load in your other ingredients.
  • Mix. Using your hands, thoroughly mix your ingredients and then add a little water at a time until you have a mixture like dough consistency.
  • Balls. Flour a clean worktop. Make into medium dumpling balls and place into your air fryer basket or air fryer grill pan.
  • Cook. Air fry for 10 minutes at 160c/320f.
  • Finish. Load over stew or mince and serve.

Stir together ground pork, bok choy mixture, and crushed red pepper in a medium bowl. Place a dumpling wrapper on work surface, and spoon about 1 tablespoon filling in center of wrapper. Using a pastry brush or your fingers, lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over to make a half-moon shape, pressing edges to seal.
