When our grandkids sleep over, we usually watch a movie; they like seasoned popcorn but we pefer the plain old buttered stuff! Thanx to Martha Stewart, we now spend a little quality time in the kitchen as each child "cooks up" a mix before "show time"! All of the variations can be doubled or tripled, depending on the size of the container you plan to use. The Italian mixture should be kept in the refrigerator, as it contains fresh cheese.

Number Of Ingredients 19

2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese (about 1/2 ounce)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon curry powder
2 tablespoons salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl; stir until they are combined, and transfer to an airtight container for storage.
  • Season popcorn to taste.

½ cup popcorn kernels
¼ cup canola oil
1 lime, zested and juiced
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

Steps:

  • Combine popcorn kernels and oil in a deep pot over high heat and place a cover on the pot. Cook the popcorn, frequently shaking the pot to move the kernels, until the sound of kernels popping slows to nearly a stop, about 7 minutes. Carefully pour popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle lime zest and salt over the popcorn.
  • Whisk lime juice, melted butter, and sriracha sauce together in a bowl; drizzle over popcorn and toss to coat.
