Since so many have had success with this recipe, I can't understand what went wrong. Also, most donuts aren't that spicy. If I were to try this recipe again, I would cut the nutmeg in half, add a pinch of salt to bring out flavor and add more cinnamon to the sugar. I really like the idea of a donut muffin and will look for a different recipe.
