Put the pan in the oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set in the middle and puffed and brown around the edges. To make the sauce, combine the cream, confectioners' sugar and butter in a saucepan. Over medium-high heat, bring the mixture to a boil. stirring constantly with a whisk Lower the heat and let simmer for 3 minutes. Stir in the rum. Keep warm Makes 1 3/4 cups of sauce. Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it set for 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Cover each serving with rum sauce.
