Your kids will love creating and eating these simple snacks. With a little help from an adult, they can make this simple quesadilla with melted mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and pepperoni.

4 Mission® Kid Size Flour Tortillas with Edible Disney® Tortilla Decals
4 tablespoons marinara sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
½ cup pepperoni, sliced

Steps:

  • Spread 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce on two tortillas. Then sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded cheese and 1/2 cup pepperoni.
  • Optional: Instead of pepperoni, add 1/2 cup sliced veggies (mushrooms, black olives), sliced or 1/2 cup cooked chicken, chopped.
  • Place other two tortillas on top and press down slightly.
  • This step should involve an adult. Place quesadilla in a warmed skillet until cheese melts and tortilla is golden brown.
  • Flip quesadilla over to evenly brown other side.
  • Remove from skillet and allow pizza quesadilla to cool slightly.
  • Cut each pizza quesadilla into quarters.
  • Place Edible Disney®Decals on Tortillas and enjoy (instructions on back of Mission Kid Size Tortilla package).

A few well-positioned cuts turns a regular quesadilla into something special. Make sure you layer your cheese between the whole (uncut) tortilla and the meat, which will keep it from oozing out.

2 small flour or corn tortillas
2 slices of your favorite Applegate®
Cheese
1 slice of your favorite Applegate®
Deli Meat

Steps:

  • Using a small sharp knife, cut out jack o’ lantern eyes and a mouth from one of the tortillas.  Layer the cheese and meat on the whole tortilla and top with the jack o’ lantern face.  Heat a small skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the quesadilla to the skillet and cook until the underside is toasted and golden brown, about 3 minutes.  Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook until toasted and golden, about 2 minutes more. Remove from the heat and serve right away.

  • Heat broiler. In a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add one tortilla to skillet and spread about half of pizza sauce on top. Scatter garlic on top and sprinkle with half of mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning. Top with second tortilla and cook until cheese is melty and tortilla is golden.  When ready to flip, cover skillet with a large plate and invert skillet to transfer quesadilla onto plate, then slide quesadilla back into skillet, cooked-side up. Top with remaining pizza sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning. Place skillet under broiler and broil until cheese is melty and pepperoni are crispy, about 2 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.
