VANILLA RICH CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | MCCORMICK
Flavors of premium vanilla and chocolate blend together to make a wonderful combination in these favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Set aside. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts, if desired.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
- For a spooky twist this Halloween, turn chocolate chips into spiders! Before baking, press a few extra chocolate chips into the top of each cookie. Remove hot baked cookies from the oven and let stand 2 to 3 minutes. Using a toothpick, draw 8 spider legs on each exposed chocolate chip by pulling the melted chocolate out into squiggly lines.

- Extracts can be stored indefinitely without loosing much flavor. Keep the extract in a cool dry area away from heat and direct light in an air tight sealed container. So we've talked about what Rum Extract is; the difference between an Extract and the Flavoring; how to substitute one for the other and even how to substitute the liquor for one or the other. So does the Alcohol in Rum Extract or Rum Flavoring (or any other type of extract or flavoring) cook or bake off? Here I want to refer you to a full comprehensive discussion on the use of alcohol, extracts or flavorings in any recipe and a chart that tells you exactly how long you would need to bake or cook something to completely remove any alcohol from your favorite Holiday dish.
