Treat yourself to some meaty deep fried lobster, coated in a spicy garlic-onion seasoning and cornmeal for a crispier and flavorful bite!

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups cornmeal
½ cup all-purpose flour
to taste salt and pepper
1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
4 lbs cleaned, halved but still in shell fresh lobster tails
8 cups for deep frying oil

Steps:

  • In a gallon sized plastic closeable bag, combine the cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder and onion powder. Shake well.
  • Place ½ of a lobster tail at a time in to the bag. Shake to coat the tails completely.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large skillet to 365 degrees F. Place one coated lobster tail at a time into the oil.
  • Cook until the lobster turns white and the coating is lightly browned. Let the fried tails dry on paper towels.
  • Serve warm with favorite dipping sauces, and enjoy!

A very unusual but tasty way to eat Florida lobster.

3 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon onion salt
½ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon celery seed
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cornstarch
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup vegetable oil
4 lobster tails, shelled

Steps:

  • Mix the flour, salt, black pepper, sugar, onion salt, garlic salt, parsley, celery seed, paprika and cornstarch together in a small bowl.
  • In another small mixing bowl combine the milk and eggs, mix well.
  • Pour oil into a skillet or deep fat fryer. Heat the oil to high, approximately 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Cut the lobster tails into bite sized pieces. Dip lobster pieces one at a time into the egg mixture and then into the flour mixture. Place the lobster pieces one at a time into the skillet or deep fat fryer. Cook until lobster are golden brown.
