CURED MEATS - SIMPLE PARTY FOOD AND FUN FOR EVERYDAY ...

Cured meats - Simple party food and fun for everyday ... image

A dish of cured meats is always popular

Provided by Gladkokken

Categories     Food    Norwegian traditional food

Yield 8Portions

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 del cured ham
1 del chorizo
1 del cured leg of mutton
1 del salami
1 del morr sausage
3 dl sour cream
150 gram butter
scrambled eggs
flatbread
strawberry
melon

Steps:

  • Cured meats work for both everyday and party. I often serve this in companies and in this recipe I will make some recommendations about quantities and what varieties you should have on your cured meat dish.
  • If you are going to have cured meats for dinner and there are no other dishes, I recommend 200 grams of cured meats per person. If you have other dishes and plenty of accessories, it works well with 150 grams per person. Choose different varieties so there is cured meats that suit for everyone. Cured ham is something everyone likes and therefore buy a little extra of this.
  • When it comes to serving, you can do exactly what you want, but it looks a little "airier" and nicer if you fold the meat and shape it a little before you put it on the plate. I think it's good to divide so the different varieties are a little apart. I always serve cured meats with sour cream, good butter and flatbread. There are lots of good accessories and scrambled eggs and fruit are also excellent. Strawberries, melons are popular fruits for cured meats. There are also many traditions in Norway of serving sour cream porridge and cured meats. Here is my recipe for scrambled eggs: Eggerøre - Hvordan lage en perfekt eggerøre. Here is a recipe for homemade sour cream porridge: Hjemmelaget Rømmegrøt - Norsk tradisjonsmat
  • Cured meats are very good and easy for both parties and everyday life.
