Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 package (12 ounces) Crispix cereal
1-1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Spread cereal in a large roasting pan. Pour syrup mixture over cereal and stir until well coated. Sprinkle with nuts and stir. , Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Break apart and store in airtight containers.

Number Of Ingredients 6

9 cups crispy corn and rice cereal
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup peanuts and/or candy-coated chocolate pieces

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 250°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with no stick cooking spray; place cereal in pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, butter and syrup in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat 2-3 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add baking soda; mix well.
  • Pour syrup mixture over cereal; stir gently until well coated. Bake 20 minutes; stir. Continue baking 20 minutes. Stir in peanuts and/or candy.
  • Spread mixture onto waxed paper; cool 30 minutes. Break cooled mixture into pieces. Store in loosely covered container.
