This is an easy and different kind of turkey than you are probably used to. I like to serve it with rice.

4 turkey wings
10 ounces pineapple salsa (you can use up to 16 oz) or 10 ounces mango salsa (you can use up to 16 oz)
1 red bell pepper, sliced in thick julienne
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced in thick julienne
4 -6 ounces chicken broth
1 (1 1/2 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix (I use Knorr French Onion)
1 1/2 cups baby carrots
12 small pattypan squash, left whole (optional)
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 -2 teaspoon sriracha sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Cut tips off wings.
  • Place wings in crock pot.
  • Pour salsa over wings.
  • Place bell peppers over salsa.
  • Arrange carrots, squash and parsley over and around wings.
  • Sprinkle dry onion soup packet contents over all.
  • Mix hot sauce (if using) with broth and pour over all.
  • Arrange whole cilantro over top & sprinkle pepper over all.
  • Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.

2 Lbs Turkey Wings1 Cup Onions, coarsely chopped1/2 Cup Green Peppers, coarsely chopped2 Tbs Butter4 Tbs All-Purpose Flour10 oz Campbell’s Cream of Chicken Soup1 Cup Turkey Broth2 Tsps Seasoning Salt1 Tsp Garlic Powder1 Tsp Onion Powder1/2 Tsp Ground Sage1/2 Tsp Dried Thyme1/2 Tsp Dried Rosemary1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
 

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the crockpot: Turn on High heat and cover with the lid.2. Season both sides of the turkey wings.3. Place a skillet over medium-high heat (7) and add butter.4. Once melted, add in the turkey wings, and sear on each side for 3 to 4 minutes, then add them to the crockpot.5. Add the onions and peppers to the skillet and saute for 2 minutes, then add into the crockpot with the turkey wings.6. Slurry for gravy: Combine the turkey broth, cream of chicken, and flour, then stir well.7. Poor the slurry into the crockpot over the turkey wings, cover with a lid, and cook for 3-1/2 to 4 hrs.
