1/2 lb pork tenderloin, ground
1/2 lb turkey breast, ground
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon pepper
vegetable oil cooking spray

Steps:

  • Mix meat and seasonings together.
  • Shape into 12 patties.
  • Spray skillet with non-stick spray.
  • Brown patties on each side.
  • Add a few tablespoons water to pan, cover to reserve moisture, and cook till done.
  • NOTE: Use this recipe in place of pork sausage for a healthier sausage stuffing for your turkey.

1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon dried sage, crushed
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground pork, sage, salt, pepper, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix ingredients thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
  • To form patties, divide the meat mixture into six equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and flatten with the palm of your hand into 3 1/2-inch wide patties.
  • Heat an extra-large skillet over medium heat until hot. Place the patties in the skillet and cook about 8 minutes or until browned and 165°F in the center, tuning once halfway through cooking. Serve hot.
