Oven Denver Omelet Recipe: How to Make It image

I like omelets but don't always have time to stand by the stove. That's why I favor this oven-baked variety that I can quickly pop into the oven at a moment's notice. My family frequently requests this for Sunday brunch. They always empty the dish. —Ellen Bower, Taneytown, Maryland

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 large eggs
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup finely chopped fully cooked ham
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and cream. Stir in the cheese, ham, green pepper and onion. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking dish. , Bake until golden brown and the center is set, 25-30 minutes.

Quick and tasty, this omelet is an excellent way to use up leftover vegetables.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 eggs (or 4 egg whites)
2 tbsp (30 mL) milk or water
⅛ tsp (0.5 mL) salt
¼ cup (50 mL) of your favorite stir-ins (see Cook’s Tip)
1 tbsp (15 mL) grated cheese of your choice

Steps:

  • Place the eggs, water, and salt in the Ceramic Egg Cooker. Top with the lid and cover the vent hole with a finger and shake ten times to combine.Stir in the remaining ingredients.Cover and microwave on HIGH for 1 minute and then stir around the edges and bottom of the cooker. Continue to cook in 20 second intervals until the eggs are cooked through on the sides and bottom. Either eat directly from the cooker or run the releasing end of the Cake Tester & Releaser around the outer edges and invert onto a plate.
