2 cups Coca-Cola
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes.

I just happened to see this Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake recipe on facebook from an old school friend. Her mother use to make this cake when we were kids and I remembered way back then when she brought it over for us to try. It was so good and brought back happy memories.

1 cup(s) coca-cola (not diet)
1/2 cup(s) cooking oil
1 stick(s) butter
3 tablespoon(s) cocoa
2 cup(s) sugar
2 cup(s) plain flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
2 - eggs
1/2 cup(s) buttermilk
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla.
- frosting ingredients
1 stick(s) butter
2 1/3 tablespoon(s) cocoa
6 tablespoon(s) cream or milk
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
3 3/4 cup(s) confectioners sugar

Steps:

  • In a saucepan mix cola, oil, butter and cocoa and bring to boil. In bowl combine sugar, flour and salt. Pour the Cola mixture over the flour mixture and beat well.
  • Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla and beat well. Pour mixture into a greased and floured 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Frosting: In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, and milk. Heat until butter melts. Beat in remaining ingredients and spread on cake while still warm.
