These crisps taste fabulous -- but they are ridiculously simple to make.

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
Cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425° F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking oil and then top with parchment paper.
  • Drop the cheddar cheese in mounds of 1 tbsp each, spreading each out into an even layer. Also, leave about 1-inch of space between each cheese round. Sprinkle with a touch of cayenne pepper (not too much!).
  • Bake for 6-10 minutes, watching carefully. You want the cheese to melt and just about stop bubbling. Do NOT let it brown though, as it will be bitter.
  • Remove from the baking sheet and arrange on a plate. Serve.

This is a muffin recipe that my great-grandmother always made. It makes a great tasting moist muffin.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups skim milk
½ cup molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups bran flakes cereal
½ cup raisins

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 12 cup muffin pan.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate medium bowl, mix skim milk, molasses, egg, and vegetable oil. Mix in the bran cereal. Thoroughly stir in the flour mixture. Transfer to the prepared muffin pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until a knife inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.

  • Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan. Stir or whisk together.  Pour in milk and egg yolks, and whisk together. Stir over medium heat until the mixture just barely comes to a boil and becomes thick, about 6-8 minutes (maybe less, maybe more; just watch it!) The second it starts to bubble and thicken (note: It should be thick like pudding!) remove it from the heat. Add the chocolate, vanilla, and butter, and stir until everything is beautifully combined.  Pour the pudding into the pie crust (if there is extra, spoon it into small dishes) and place in the fridge to chill for 4 hours uncovered. Cut into slices and serve with whipped cream!
