OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE CHOCOLATE THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER

Menu Description: “An extra generous pecan brownie is crowned with rich vanilla ice cream, drizzled with our classic warm chocolate sauce and finished with chocolate shavings and whipped cream. A chocolate lover’s dream.” The gluten-free brownie under the ice cream and homemade whipped cream is a flourless chocolate pecan cake cut into squares. Once the brownie is baked, it is chilled and sliced, then each serving is nuked for about 45 seconds until gooey hot. The fun really starts when you load a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the hot brownie and then drizzle some warm fudge sauce over the top. Outback cooks make the sauce from scratch each day, but it tastes similar to Hershey’s Hot Fudge Topping that you can get in just about any market. I just received this recipe from a a good friend in Melbourn so, of course, I had to post it here. The instructions are exactly as I received them :D

Total Time 40 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Yield 1 8x8 pan

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate baking squares, melted
1 cup flour
1/2-1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Steps:

Preheat oven to 325°.
Cream butter, sugar&vanilla.
Beat in eggs.
Blend in melted chocolate.
Beat in flour and if so desired, nuts. (I just sprinkled my nuts on the top prior to baking. Yes, they were an after thought.).
Bake in an 8x8 pan for 30-35 minutes.
Cool.
Drool.
Cut into squares.
Hide in closet and eat.
