- In a large saucepan, combine the milk, rice, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until thick and creamy, stirring often. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. , Place 1 cup chips in a small bowl. In a small saucepan, bring cream just to a boil. Pour over chocolate; whisk until smooth. Slowly stir into rice mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour., Stir in remaining chips. Spoon into dessert dishes. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

- Grease a 9-inch x 13-inch pan very well. Melt the butter in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt. Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth. Add the crisp rice cereal and stir so that the cereal is evenly coated. Press the mixture into prepared pan with buttered hands to help with sticking. Let the treats cool completely or put the pan in fridge for 30 minutes.Cut the treats into 20 even squares. Melt the chocolate in the microwave unti smooth, checking and stirring often. Dip the top of each treat into the chocolate so the tops are completely coated in chocolate, and even and smooth. Let cool until the chocolate sets. Store at room temperature.
