2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups sour cream
3/4 cup margarine or 3/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips (mini or regular)

Steps:

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease (not oil) a 13 x 9 pan.
In large bowl, combine first 9 ingredients.
Mix well by hand or use a mixer at medium speed for about 3 minutes.
Pour half of the batter (about 2 1/2 cups) into the prepared pan.
In separate small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture and chocolate chips (1/2 cup) over batter.
Repeat with remaining batter, sugar mixture, and chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Ingredients

? cup butter
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
3 eggs
1?½ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup whole wheat flour
2?½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1?½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round pans.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Beat in the eggs.
In another bowl, sift together the flours, baking powder, and salt. Add this alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture. Stir in the vanilla. Chop the chocolate chips coarsely, and add to the batter.
Pour batter into prepared pans, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean. You can fill with a Butterscotch Filling, and top with a Chocolate Glaze.

Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9- by 13- by 2-inch baking pan, then line with parchment, leaving an overhang on the long sides. Butter the parchment, then dust with flour, tapping out excess. Mix together milk and vanilla in a bowl. Sift together both flours, baking powder, and salt. Beat butter and both sugars on medium-high speed with an electric mixer, until light and fluffy, 3 to 5 minutes. Reduce speed to low and add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture in thirds, alternating with milk mixture and beginning and ending with flour. Fold in the chips. Transfer batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top. Tap the pan on the counter to remove any air bubbles. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes.
