This is posted by request, and comes from the Aus Women's Weekly Chinese Cooking Class Cookbook. It's a simple recipe I make quite often. Prep time doesn't include marinating time.

Total Time 35 minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 30 minutes

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 (375 g) lean pork fillets
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons dry red wine

  • Drain pork fillets from marinade, reserve marinade.
  • Put pork on wire rack over baking dish.
  • Bake in a moderate oven 30 minutes, turning frequently with tongs and basting frequently with marinade.
  • Remove from oven, put on board and allow to cool.
  • Cut pork into diagonal slices to serve.

CHAR SIU (CHINESE BBQ PORK) RECIPE | ALLRECIPES
"Char siu" literally means "fork roast" - "char" being "fork" (both noun and verb) and "siu" being "roast" - after the traditional cooking method for the dish: long strips of seasoned boneless pork are skewered with long forks and placed in a covered oven or over a fire. This is best cooked over charcoal, but it's important to cook with indirect heat.

ROAST PORK WITH RED PORK RECIPE - SIMPLE CHINESE FOOD
Red lees has always been the raw material for Chinese people in the south of the Yangtze River to prepare red lees meat, red lees eel, red lees chicken, Su-style sauced duck, red lees egg and red lees kimchi. The alcohol content is about 20%, and the quality is based on the next year's aging. Bright red in color and strong wine aroma is better. It has special functions such as lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, lowering blood sugar and preventing cancer. It also has rare and valuable natural red pigments. It is a precious, delicious, healthy and natural food.
Barbecued pork was cooked at home before, and this time it was marinated with red yeast rice lees. Not only did the char siu have a nice color, but also the meat had a slight aroma of lees! It's really good!
