China Pantry Recipes: Cold Sesame Noodles | Reach Further image

For a different but balanced pop of flavor, here’s a simple oyster sauce marinade you can add to any protein.

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield Serves 2 people

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup Chinese dried wheat noodles
1/2 Chinese long cucumber (or English cucumber)
2 tablespoons Chinese sesame paste
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon Shanxi black vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Steps:

  • 1. Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Strain and rinse with ice water. Drain again and set aside.
  • 2. Julienne the cucumbers finely. Set aside.
  • 3. For the sauce: Combine the sesame paste, soy sauce, black vinegar and sesame oil. Stir to combine.
  • 4. Pour the sauce over the noodles. Garnish with the cucumbers. Serve cold.
