Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Cutlets Recipe – Melanie Cooks image

These breaded chicken cutlets will be so crispy you won't miss regular fried chicken at all! Plus they are made without any oil so they are a healthier option.

2 Chicken cutlets
1 Egg
Breadcrumbs
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder

Steps:

  • First spray your air fryer basket with some non-stick cooking oil spray.
  • Crack an egg into a shallow bowl and whisk.
  • Pour some breadcrumbs onto a plate.
  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Make sure to do both sides.
  • Then one at a time, dip the chicken into the egg on both sides, and then coat it in the breadcrumbs. Place in the air fryer basket. Do the same for the other cutlet.
  • Set the air fryer temperature to 400F and the time to 10 minutes for thin cutlets. If yours are thicker, use 15 minutes.
  • Halfway through cooking, remove the basket and use a spatula to flip the cutlets over.
  • Return basket to air fryer and let it finish cooking.
  • When done, check internal temperature to make sure it is at least 165F.
  • Remove and enjoy!

These Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets are quickly coated in breading and fried in the air fryer with very little oil to make a crispy, juicy piece of chicken that only take about 20 minutes to make.

1 boneless skinless chicken breast (cut in half and lightly pounded)
Salt and pepper
1 egg (beaten)
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup fine bread crumbs or panko
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon flake salt

Steps:

  • Season the chicken with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  • Whisk the egg in a bowl. Combine the breadcrumbs, flour, and seasonings on another plate.
  • Dredge the chicken cutlets in the egg, shake off excess. Lay the chicken in the breadcrumbs, then drag/flip to fully coat the chicken.
  • Spray the chicken with a generous amount of cooking oil. Place it, oiled side down in the air fryer basket. Spray the top side.
  • Cook the chicken at 385°F for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F internal temperature.
