ORIGINAL CHEX MIX RECIPE - FOOD.COM
This is the recipe that was on the Chex cereal box with a few additions, when I was a child. I hope you like it as much as I do. I seem to make it every year around Christmas time, so Cheers!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250°F.
- Heat Butter in large 8-quart pot until melted and add seasoning salt and Worcestershire sauce and set aside.
- In large bowl, measure all 3 cereals, nuts, and pretzels and mix together.
- Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Place mixture in a large pan (I usually use my roasting pan) and bake for 1 hour, stirring approximately every 15 minutes.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 250°F.
- Melt butter in large roasting pan in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in all remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
- Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread onto paper towels to cool. Store in container with tight-fitting lid.

- Position oven racks to the top and bottom third of your oven. Preheat oven to 300°F. Spread Chex cereal, cracker sticks, cheese crackers and oyster crackers on two rimmed baking sheets. Bake for 5 minutes or until warm. In the meantime, mix together melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice and hot sauce in a small bowl. Remove crackers from oven and toss them with the pretzels in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle cereal and cracker mixture with the seasoned melted butter and toss to coat well. Divide the mixture between the two rimmed baking sheets and bake for 20-30 minutes or until cereal and crackers are beginning to brown. Rotate sheets and stir snack mix halfway through baking time. Allow mixture to cool completely before serving. Extra snack mix can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
