? cup butter, softened
1?½ cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1?½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 cups butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth.
In medium bowl, combine flour and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; stir until a soft dough forms. Stir in butterscotch chips and pecans.
Drop tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet. Bake 7-9 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool. Store in single layers between waxed paper in an airtight container.

1 (18.25-ounce) package devil's food cake mix
½ cup vegetable shortening
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon water
½ cup sifted powdered sugar

Steps:

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until smooth.
Shape dough into 1" balls; roll in powdered sugar. Place balls 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Cool about 10 minutes on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
