stick butter, melted

cloves garlic, minced

Freshly Chopped Parsley

kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

shredded mozzarella

1 c.

shredded fontina

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a serrated knife, crosshatch baguette, making slices every inch in both directions and making sure to not slice all the way through the bottom of baguette. In a small bowl, stir together melted butter, garlic, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Brush baguette with melted butter mixture, making sure to get inside crosshatches. Stuff each crosshatch with mozzarella and fontina and wrap bread completely in foil. Bake until cheese is melted and bread is warm and toasty, 20 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes, then serve.

Stuffed with cheese and brushed with a garlic butter, this bread will be your new supper sidekick.

1 can (11 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original French Bread
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
4 oz Monterey Jack cheese, cut into small squares

Steps:

  • Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Remove dough from can. Twist dough into a long log; place on cookie sheet. Cover with plastic wrap; let stand while oven is heating. Heat oven to 350°F.
  • When oven is heated, remove plastic wrap from dough. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile, in small cup or bowl, mix melted butter and garlic.
  • Remove bread from oven. Immediately brush garlic butter over bread. Sprinkle evenly with parsley. Cool 15 minutes before slicing.
  • When bread is cool, cut 1-inch slits crosswise and three-fourths of the way down into bread; do not cut all the way through. Insert 1 square of cheese into each slit.
  • Return bread to oven; bake 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
