A Cheeseburger Pot Pie turns the classic finger food into a plate-worthy dish for any event. Baked in a flaky Pillsbury™ refrigerated Pie Crust, it's all the delicious flavors of your favorite hamburger turned into a cheeseburger pie. Our Cheeseburger Pot Pie is made by cooking ground beef and adding burger toppings like onion, ketchup, pickles and topping it with cheese. Cover the mixture with the pie crust and bake until it's golden brown and bubbly. This recipe makes it easy to skip the bun and enjoy your burger in a pie!

1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons chopped pickle, if desired
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1 crust from 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. In 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add onion; cook 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender. Stir in ketchup, pickle and pepper. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Spoon mixture into ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Remove pie crust from pouch; place flat over hot beef mixture.
  • Seal and flute edge, if desired. Cut slits in several places in crust.
  • Bake 13 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. After 8 to 10 minutes of baking, cover crust edge with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning.

4 slices bacon, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/4 cup dried instant minced onion
1/4 cup chopped hamburger pickle slices
1/4 cup ranch dressing
2 Italian plum tomato, thinly sliced, if desired
4 slices (3/4 oz each) American or Cheddar cheese, each cut in half
2 cans (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
1 egg, beaten

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat 2 minutes. Add ground beef and onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain if necessary. Stir in pickles and ranch dressing.
  • Unroll dough and separate each can into 4 rectangles; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press each into 7x4-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal.
  • Spoon about 1/3 cup ground beef mixture onto one end of each rectangle. Top each with tomato slices and 1 piece of cheese. Fold dough over filling; press edges with fork to seal (sandwiches will be full). Brush tops with egg.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until deep golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
