This recipe is a basic bar cookie recipe that you can add your favorite chocolate covered candy bars to.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 (2.1 ounce) bars chocolate-coated peanut and nougat candy (such as Baby Ruth(R))

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Beat the butter or margarine with the white and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Blend in the eggs, mixing well.
Mix in the flour, baking soda and salt to the egg mixture. Reserve 1/2 cup of the chopped candy bars for the topping. Stir the remaining candy into the flour mixture. Spread the batter into one 13x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle the reserved candy on top.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in pan on a wire rack then cut into squares.

Nonstick cooking spray or shortening
1 2-layer-size package German or milk chocolate cake mix
1 5 ounce can (2/3 cup) evaporated milk
? cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped nuts
3 2.6 ounces chocolate covered peanut-caramel-nougat bars or 6 chocolate-covered peanut butter cups, chopped

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degree F. Lightly coat a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with cooking spray or grease with shortening. In a large mixing bowl beat together cake mix, milk, and butter until well mixed. Stir chopped nuts into the beaten mixture.
Spread half of the mixture into prepared pan. Bake in the 350 degree F oven for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped candy. Drop remaining cake mixture by teaspoons over all. Bake about 15 minutes more or until a wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into rectangles. Makes 36 servings.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray 13- by 9-inch metal baking pan with nonstick baking spray; line pan with foil, then spray foil. With mixer on medium-high speed, beat butter, brown sugar and salt until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. With mixer on low speed, beat in flour until just combined. Transfer to prepared pan. With lightly floured hands, spread into even layer. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until deep golden brown around edges. Cool completely on wire rack. Spread crust with caramel sauce. Top with toffee bits, broken pretzels and toasted coconut. Drizzle with melted bittersweet chocolate. Chill to set (1 1/2 hours). Cut into 2-inch squares.

3. Drop on a cookie sheet in the size you wish and bake until edges are browned nicely in the middle of the oven (ten minutes or less). Transfer to a cooling rack. From here they disappeared so I can't tell you shelf life but assume these will freeze nicely and ship well.

Put the chocolate in a large heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, bring the cream just to a simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let stand for 5 minutes; whisk until smooth. Let the ganache cool slightly, about 20 minutes, then pour the ganache into the cookie shell. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Remove the tart ring. Scatter the top of the bar with the popcorn and pecans and drizzle all over with the caramel sauce. Sprinkle with sea salt. Cut the cookie bar into slices. Serve.
