Vegetable cooking spray
? cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper

Steps:

  • Arrange bacon in a single layer in an aluminum foil-lined broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and pepper.
  • Bake at 425° for 14 to 18 minutes or until done. Serve immediately.

¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
ground black pepper to taste
1 pound thick-cut bacon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix brown sugar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Place bacon slices on cooling rack set over a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, turn slices, and bake another 5 minutes.
  • Remove bacon and brush both sides with brown sugar mixture. Return bacon to the oven and bake another 5 minutes. Repeat basting every 5 minutes until bacon is browned and crisp, about 35 minutes.

Lay the turkey bacon slices on the sheet in a single layer. In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, bourbon and cayenne if you’re using it. Mix well until combined. Spoon the mixture over the bacon dividing it evenly among the slices. With the back of the spoon or a brush spread it evenly. Place on the grill or in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the bacon is browned and caramelized. Remove from the grill/oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a plate and drizzle the syrup from the pan over the top. Serve immediately warm, or let cool and serve at room temp.
