WW RECIPES - IRISH SODA BREAD – VERY MICHELLY

Even if you're not Irish, this is an easy and delicious Irish Soda Bread recipe you will enjoy. Recipe makes 16 slices - 2 points per slice. To get somewhat even slices, I cut these in wedges, like you would a pizza pie. I cut the loaf in half, then half again. For each quarter, I sliced those in half, and then half again too. So you end up with 16 bread wedges. You can slice it any way you want, I just did it that way so I knew the slices were even and I could more easily determine the points value that way.

IRISH SODA BREAD – SODA BREAD
The basic recipe is simple and made with just four ingredients – flour, baking soda, buttermilk, and salt. Soda bread earned it name because the baking soda is used as a leavening agent instead of yeast, which is then activated by the buttermilk. Irish families modified this basic recipe which is why there are so many variations today.
