Steps:

  • Off heat, coat large griddle, grill rack, or grill pan with nonstick spray. Preheat griddle, gas grill, or grill pan to medium-high, or prepare medium-high fire in charcoal grill.
  • In large bowl, mix beef, Worcestershire, garlic, salt, and black pepper and shape into 4 patties, each about 1 inch thick. (To retain juiciness, be careful not to overwork the meat.)
  • Arrange patties on hot griddle or grill and cook for 5 minutes per side for medium (or to desired degree of doneness). Serve burgers on rolls with your favorite toppings.
