1 pound frozen bread dough, thawed
¾ cup margarine, melted
1 egg, beaten
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch Bundt cake pan.
  • Pull off pieces of thawed bread dough and form into balls. Combine margarine and egg in a small mixing bowl; mix in cheese, garlic powder, salt and parsley. Dip dough balls into mixture and layer in the prepared pan. Cover and let rise until doubled in volume, about 45 minutes.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 35 minutes.

This is a very easy bread to make. Monkey bread also has been called Bubble Bread and Pull Apart Bread.

Yield 1 - 9 or 10 inch tube pan

Number Of Ingredients 7

24 ounces frozen dinner roll dough
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix
¼ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ cup chopped walnuts
½ cup melted butter

Steps:

  • The night or several hours before, grease and flour a 9 or 10 inch tube pan. Mix brown sugar and pudding mix together. Mix white sugar and cinnamon together. Place frozen dinner rolls in pan a layer at a time. Sprinkle brown sugar and pudding mix over first layer of rolls. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mixture over the brown sugar and pudding mixture. Spread half the nuts and melted butter over first layer. Repeat with the next layer.
  • Place on counter over night. Do not cover. Next morning bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 30 minutes. Let stand a few minutes and turn pan over onto serving platter.

Long before people started talking about "Monkey Bread," my mom was making Bubble Bread. Basically, it's the same thing but mom's version has a bit of a twist with instant Butterscotch pudding. It's hard to find this pudding in the stores these days, so I go onto Amazon to make my purchase. Make sure when this comes out of the oven, you immediately flip it onto a platter...otherwise, the sugar will harden in the Bundt pan and you'll have a really hard time trying to get it out!
