My family's favorite brownie. I get requests from friends and co-workers all the time for this recipe! If you like chocolate and cherries, you will love this recipe!

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate fudge cake mix
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon almond extract
1 cup white sugar
? cup milk
5 tablespoons butter
1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Stir cherry filling, cake mix, eggs, and almond extract together in a bowl by hand. Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • While brownies are cooling, bring sugar, milk, and butter to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Remove from heat. Spread over cooled brownies.

1 box (1 lb 2.3 oz) fudge brownie mix
2/3 cup oil
1/4 cup water
2 eggs
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 container (1 lb) vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling, chilled

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening. In large bowl, stir brownie ingredients until well blended with spoon. Spread in pan.
  • Bake 24 to 26 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • In large bowl, beat filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies. Cover; refrigerate at least 2 hours or until set.
  • To serve, spoon pie filling over top. Cut into squares.
