1 lb fresh broccoli
4 teaspoons olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped shallots
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Steam broccoli until crisp tender.
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in small skillet.
  • Add shallots and garlic.
  • Saute 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, stir in vinegar, remaining oil and mustard.
  • Add to broccoli and toss well.

2 bunches broccoli, trimmed
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Steam broccoli until crisp tender. Place broccoli in a serving bowl; keep warm.
  • In a small saucepan, cook balsamic vinegar over medium heat until reduced by half. stir in butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Pour over broccoli, tossing gently to coat.
