Technically speaking "new potatoes" can be any young potato. Boston Market, however, uses red potatoes for this particular dish, and they're actually not all that young. So, for this recipe you need some common, medium-size red potatoes. After cutting the potatoes into bite-size slices, you steam them on a steamer rack or basket in a large covered saucepan over boiling water. When the potatoes are done, toss them with a delicious mix of melted butter, fresh dill, and garlic, and you've got a quick clone that could stand up to any taste test. 2 cloves garlic, minced fine
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
2 teaspoons crushed dill

Steps:

  • Wash potatoes well and boil until soft, drain well on paper towels.
  • Melt 1 stick of butter, in large frying pan (use only real butter) sauté garlic for a couple of moments, and then add potatoes and the rest of the seasonings.
  • Pan-fry the potatoes until they are lightly brown.

Once it boils, let it sit for 5-10 minutes Drain potatoes and put into mixer with the whisk attachment. Add butter and whip at highest speed. (But be sure that it doesn't go flying everywhere!)
