Looking to break out of your grilling rut? Try these bold and spicy burgers. They're packed with so much flavor, you don't really need much beyond some cheese to garnish.This recipe was originally published in the Daily Press.

1 pound lean ground beef (or bison/beef mixture, if available)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon bold and spicy steak sauce, such as a1
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup dry onions
1/4 cup parsley flakes
3 pinches black pepper

Steps:

  • Step 1: In a large bowl, mix 1 pound lean ground beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon bold and spicy steak sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 cup dry onions, 1/4 cup parsley flakes and 3 pinches black pepper. Knead mixture thoroughly. Allow to sit for 30 minutes so the dry ingredients have time to soak up moisture.
  • Step 2: Preheat grill.
  • Step 3: Form mixture into 4 patties and grill to desired level of doneness.
  • Step 4: Add cheese if desired, and garnish to taste (although the burgers won't need much more flavor!).

Layers of sweet-tangy sauce, smoky and juicy grilled beef patties, crisp bacon, and onion rings, makes up this easy-to-make burger recipe!

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 lb Ground Beef
½ cup chopped Green Onions
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp Cayenne pepper
2 tbsp steak seasoning
4 hamburger buns
2 tbsp melted butter
¾ cup barbecue sauce
1 tbsp honey
8 thick slices, cooked crisp Bacon
8 frozen, prepared according to package directions onion rings
4 Borden® American Cheese Singles slices
4 tomato slices
fresh lettuce

Steps:

  • Combine the ground beef, green onions, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper, then form into 4 patties. Sprinkle both sides with steak seasoning.
  • Cover and chill for at least 4 hours.
  • Brush the buns with melted butter, set aside. Mix the barbecue sauce with honey in a small bowl, and set aside.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the burgers for about 4 to 6 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
  • 2 minutes before the burgers are finished, grill the buns, butter side down, until golden brown. Place the cheese singles on burgers to melt.
  • Serve each burger on a buttered bun topped with 2 slices crisp bacon and onion rings, honey barbeque sauce, lettuce and tomato. Enjoy!
