Not sure where I got this recipe, but I've been making it since the 70s!

1 box(es) yellow cake mix
1/3 cup(s) butter
2 - eggs
14 ounce(s) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
8 ounce(s) bag, heath bits o'brickle toffee bits
8 ounce(s) bag, pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer using the paddle attachment, pour in the cake mix.
  • Add the butter and egg and whip until smooth.
  • PAM a 13x9 pan.
  • Pat the cake mix, butter, and egg batter into the pan.
  • In a clean bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and one beaten egg.
  • Fold in one-half package of the Bits O'Brickle Toffee Bits.
  • Add one-half package of chopped pecans.
  • Pour this mixture on top of the cake batter.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and cut into bars while still warm.

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup toffee bits
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup toffee bits

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch pan with shortening. In large bowl with electric mixer, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter on medium speed until well blended. Beat in vanilla and eggs until light and fluffy. On low speed, beat in flour, baking powder and salt until dough forms. With spoon, stir in 1/2 cup toffee bits. Spread in pan.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Remove pan from oven. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips; let stand 1 minute. Spread melted chips over bars. Sprinkle 1/3 cup toffee bits evenly over top. Cool completely, about 45 minutes. Cut into bars.
