Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.
- To Make Frosting: Combine 3 tablespoons softened butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 cup confectioners' sugar. Stir until smooth. Frost brownies while they are still warm.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. , Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake until the top is dry and the center is set, 25-30 minutes. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. If desired, dust with confectioners' sugar.

Prepare brownie batter according to box instructions and pour into pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Keep oven on. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Whisk in eggs until combined. Stir in pecans until coated. Top baked brownies with pecan topping, spreading evenly. Return to oven and bake until pecan mixture is set, 20 minutes more. (If you tilt the pan, no liquid should run or be visible.) Let brownies cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.
