Skillet Barbecued Pork Chops Recipe: How to Make It image

On days I volunteer at church or shuttle between after-school activities, I'm glad this dinner comes together in one skillet. The sauce makes the chops so moist and tender. I also simmer it up with other meats like beef or venison steaks.—Tammy Messing, Ruth, Michigan

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 boneless pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick)
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup honey barbecue sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water

Steps:

  • Sprinkle pork chops with seasoned salt. In a large skillet, brown chops on both sides in butter over medium-high heat. Remove chops. , In the drippings, saute onion until golden brown. Add the water, brown sugar, barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Return chops to the skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 minutes or until a thermometer inserted in pork reads 145°. Remove chops; keep warm., Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; gradually stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with pork.

4 x Boneless pork loin chops [1lb]
2 tsp Vegetable oil
1 x Onion, minced
1/3 c. Ketchup
1 Tbsp. Cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp Dry mustard
1/4 tsp Pepper

Steps:

  • Serve with Baked potato with lowfat sour cream Buttered carrots Chocolate Chip cookies Lowfat milk Trim fat from pork chops. In large non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; cook pork chops, turning once, for 5 min or possibly till browned on both sides. Transfer to plate; set aside. Add in onion to skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring, for 4 min or possibly till softened. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, mustard and pepper; pour into skillet. Bring to boil; return pork and any accumulated juices to skillet, turning to coat. Reduce heat to simmer; cook, stirring and turning pork chops occasionally, for about 8 min or possibly just till only a hint of pink remains inside pork chops and sauce is thickened. If the sauce is too thick, stir in 1 tb of water at the end.
