We use this in the fall and push it in to the bark of the tree and then we rub bird seeds and fruits into it and the birds love it we have a couple ladder back hairy wood peckers that come around all the time for it.... we enjoy sitting in the back yard and watching them. we have gotten our camera out and taken pics of the birds while feeding at our different feeders...the ones I enjoy the most are the humming birds.

1 cup(s) lard
1 cup(s) peanut butter, creamy
1 cup(s) all purpose flour
4 cup(s) yellow cornmeal

Steps:

Mix and Serve This simple mix and serve treat attracts a lot of woodpeckers and other birds. Mix lard, peanut butter and flour. Then add cornmeal. Stir until it's the consistency of putty.
Press the mixture into the bark of trees or on your pinecone feeders, etc....then press bird seed and fruit into the tree incase of pinecone or such roll in bird seed and or fruit.

1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt candy coating; stir until smooth. Stir in peanut butter; thinly spread onto a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. , In another microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Drizzle over candy coating mixture; cut through mixture with a knife to swirl the chocolate. Chill until firm., Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

This is a copycat of the William Sonoma Bark that costs $22 a lb. I have never tried their version, but when my mom told me she liked it, I went on a search to find the recipe. Make sure to buy white chocolate chips that contain cocoa butter to get a smooth melt- otherwise, you will end up with clumpy chocolate. Use good quality chocolate chips (belgian, semi-sweet, or bittersweet) for the best results.This recipe is so simple and delicious my only hope is that I'm able to save a piece for my mom.
