Avocado Garlic Bread | Avocados From Mexico image

Loaded with Parmensan and garlic, this garlic bread will make your mouth water! Paired with an avocado dip, this appetizer will have your friends longing for the next bite!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 ea. Loaf of french bread
1/4 c. Salted butter, softened
1 T. Parmesan cheese, shredded
2 ea. Garlic cloves, minced
1/2 T. Parsley, dried
Salt and pepper, to taste
Dip
1/2 ea. Avocados From Mexico, mashed
2 T. Salted butter, melted
2 ea. Garlic cloves, minced
Salt, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF degrees and prepare a baking sheet with foil. Place the loaf of bread with the cut side face up on the baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, add softened butter, parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley and salt to taste. Stir ingredients until well combined.
  • Evenly distribute the butter and parmesan cheese spread on top of the loaf of bread. Bake bread for approximately 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, add avocado, melted butter, garlic and salt to taste. Stir the ingredients together until smooth and creamy to make avocado garlic dip.
  • After the bread comes out of the oven, slice into 8 pieces and serve with avocado garlic dip.

2?? cups all-purpose flour
1?½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ teaspoon ground allspice
½ cup butter, softened
1?? cups white sugar
3 eggs
1?½ cups mashed ripe avocado
¾ cup buttermilk
¾ cup chopped pecans
½ cup raisins
1 tablespoon grated orange zest

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9x5 inch loaf pans. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and allspice. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the mashed avocado. Stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk until just mixed. Fold in the chopped pecans, raisins and orange zest. Divide the batter evenly between the two loaf pans.
  • Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Allow loaves to cool in pan for at least 20 minutes before removing.
