"Super easy to make Spanish Rice"

2 cups uncooked long grain rice
2 cans chicken broth
1 cup water
1 small onion minced
1 can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons cooking oil

Steps:

  • "Brown rice in oil on med-high heat. Add onions and tomato sauce. Mix well but don't over mix! Add chicken broth, water, garlic salt and cumin. Taste for appropriate seasoning (everyone is different!) Bring to a boil, cover and simmer on med-low heat for about 20 min or until all the water is gone. "

Number Of Ingredients 9

1-1/2 qt. (6 cups) water, divided
pinch of saffron threads, toasted
1/4 cup KRAFT Italian Vinaigrette Dressing made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups long-grain white rice, uncooked
2 tomatoes, chopped
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Bring 1/4 cup water just to simmer in small saucepan. Remove from heat. Add saffron; stir. Let stand until ready to use.
  • Heat dressing in large saucepan on medium heat. Add green peppers, onions and garlic; cook 3 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Add rice; cook and stir 1 min.
  • Add tomatoes, black pepper, saffron and remaining water; stir. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 20 to 25 min. or until rice is tender and all the water is absorbed. Fluff with fork before serving.
