2 cups frozen cut green beans (about 8 ounces), thawed
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or honey
Sesame seeds, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add green beans; cook and stir until heated through. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in soy sauce and sugar until sugar is dissolved. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds.

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 pounds fresh green beans, ends snapped
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ teaspoon Vietnamese chili sauce
1 dash sesame oil
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat for 1 minute. Add garlic; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly to keep garlic from browning. Add green beans and saute, stirring frequently, for 1 minute. Reduce heat to low; add soy sauce, chili sauce, sesame oil, and pepper. Stir and cover. Cook until green beans are tender, about 10 minutes.
