Number Of Ingredients 5

flour - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
yeast - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g)
water - 11 tablespoons
salt - 1/3 tsp
sugar - 1/3 tsp

Steps:

  • Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water with a pinch of sugar. Leave it to rise and add it to the sifted flour , add salt and start mixing. Knead about 8 minutes, until you get a smooth and elastic dough. Cover it and let it rise in a warm place for 2 hours, until doubled in volume.
  • Then knead once more for a few minutes and let it rise for 2 more hours. Then shape it into a roll with a length of 23.5? (60 cm) and a diameter of 2? (5 cm). Cut it into pieces with a thickness of 2? (5 cm).
  • Roll out each piece, brush lightly with oil and make florets, or some other curled shape. Steam thus prepared buns for 20 minutes, then fry until golden in preheated oil. Optionally, serve with sesame seeds and soya sauce .

4 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1?½ cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
4 cups shortening for frying

Steps:

  • Combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir in 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water. Knead until soft but not sticky. Shape dough into balls about 3 inches in diameter. Flatten into patties 1/2 inch thick, and make a small hole in the center of each patty.
  • Fry one at a time in 1 inch of hot shortening, turning to brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
