2 lavash bread, 15 inch rounds
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup mango chutney
3/4 teaspoon curry powder
salt and pepper
1 head red leaf lettuce, leaves separated
1 lb smoked turkey, sliced 1/8 inch thick
1 small English cucumber, thinly sliced
1 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Hold 1 lavosh under cold running water until thoroughly moistened, wetting both sides, about 1 minute.
  • Place on damp towel, Cover with another damp towel.
  • Repeat with second lavosh.
  • Let stand until soft enough to roll, 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Combine cream cheese, chutney and curry in food processor until smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place 1 lavosh on flat surface.
  • Spread half of cream cheese mixture over bread.
  • Arrange 3 or 4 lettuce leaves on one end of lavosh (about 1/3 of the lavosh).
  • Top lettuce with ½ of the smoked turkey, ½ of the cucumber slices, ½ of the tomato and ½ of the onion.
  • Roll bread up tightly, jellyroll fashion, starting at the end with the filling on it.
  • Repeat with second lavosh and other ½ of the filling ingredients.
  • Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving time.
  • Can be prepared one day ahead.
  • Cut rolls diagonally into 1-inch thick slices.

As a kid, I grew up eating these pinwheel sandwiches from the local market's deli. Somehow, the fact that the sandwich was rolled and cut into a circle made them much more exciting to my young palate. These sandwiches are easy to make (you can sub in any ingredients you like for the ones I used here) and great for serving to groups — kids and adults alike!Click here to see 9 Quick and Easy Wrap Recipes.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 sheet lavash bread
2 ounce reduced-fat cream cheese, plus more for sealing the sandwiches
3 large leaves butter lettuce
6 slices turkey
1/2 tomato, sliced
1/2 haas avocado, peeeled, pitted, and sliced

Steps:

  • With a damp paper towel, moisten the lavash so that it is pliable and easy to roll.
  • Spread the cream cheese evenly across the lavash. Place lettuce leaves evenly on top of the cream cheese layer. Distribute the turkey, tomato, and avocado across the lavash sheet.
  • Starting from the bottom of the sheet, gently roll the lavash into a roll. Seal the edges with a little bit of cream cheese to prevent them from unrolling.
  • Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Remove from the refrigerator and slice roll into 4-6 pieces, depending on the thickness of the sandwich you want. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Oh they are so awesome cut as appetizers or as a sandwich at lunch with a bowl soup or chips. For the meat or cheese use what ever you like these are the ingredients they used.
