1/4 cup Butter
1 minced yellow onion
1 chopped celery
2 truRoots® Organic Sprouted Quinoa & Ancient Grain Blend
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 3/4 cups Water
1 3/4 cups unsalted chicken stock
1 1/4 teaspoons fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground thyme

Steps:

  • 1. MELT butter in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Saute onion and celery until softened. Add quinoa & grain blend and garlic. Cook and stir until garlic is fragrant.
  • 2. ADD water, stock, salt and thyme. Bring to boil. Reduce to simmer. Cover and cook about 28 minutes or until are tender. Remove from heat. Let stand, 10 minutes. Fluff with fork.

1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon peeled and minced ginger
1 teaspoon minced lemongrass
1 teaspoon peeled and minced turmeric
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup red quinoa
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup farro (spelt)
3 1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Step 2: In a medium oven-proof baking dish or casserole, mix together 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon peeled and minced ginger, 1 teaspoon minced lemongrass, 1 teaspoon peeled and minced turmeric, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1/2 cup red quinoa, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup farro (spelt) and 3 1/2 cups water. Cover with foil and seal the edges tightly.
  • Step 3: Bake until all grains are fully cooked, about 75 to 85 minutes. Mix well before serving.
